OSM’s Electronic Shed Reservation Calendar

Oulun Seudun Melojat (OSM) uses an electronic kayak reservation calendar.

You can find the kayaks for both the Nokkala shed and the Mustasalmi container in the same reservation calendar. The electronic reservation calendar is open from the beginning of April until the end of October. If you paddle outside of this time, please send information about your loan to the club’s email address.

The paper logbooks were discontinued in 2023.

You can make short hourly reservations or longer day reservations. The maximum reservation period is 4 days.

Reservation Instructions

  1. Open the reservation calendar.
  2. Select the equipment group based on the location and the type of kayak you wish to reserve.
  3. Choose whether you need the kayak for a few hours or for several days. You can combine these reservations if necessary.
  4. Select the start time and the kayak from the calendar. Only free times are visible in the calendar; if the equipment is reserved, it will not be shown.
  5. Fill in the ”customer information,” including the location of use: state where you are going to paddle, especially for safety reasons.
  6. Confirm the reservation.
  7. After confirmation, you will receive a confirmation email with a link through which you can check your reservation and, if necessary, cancel it.

Changing or Cancelling a Reservation

After confirmation, you can no longer modify the reservation, but you can cancel it. The confirmation email you received includes a link through which you can cancel the reservation.

If you want to modify a reservation, you must cancel the current reservation and make a new one.

Special Instructions

Reservations lasting over 24 hours: When reserving a kayak for a period longer than 24 hours, the end time cannot be modified. If you want your reservation’s end time to be different from what the system suggests, you must make two consecutive reservations.

To familiarize yourself with the system, there is a ”test kayak” on the list that you can use for practice before making actual reservations.
