Becoming a Member of Oulun Seudun Melojat

Join Oulun Seudun Melojat

You can join Oulun Seudun Melojat through the Suomisport -service. Suomisport is provided by the Finnish Olympic Committee, so you or your dependant already have a Sport Account.

If you already have a Sport Account, joining is easy – simply click the Join a member link. If you do not yet have a Sport Account, one will be created for you during the membership registration process in Suomisport. More information about the Sport Account is available on the Suomisport website.

Membership categories

Oulun Seudun Melojat has two membership categories: Full member and Family member. Each member must join one of these categories.

At least one person in the household must join as a full member. Other family members may join as family members. Family members must have the same registered address as the full member.

Membership fees

The annual membership fee depends on the selected membership category.

  • The full membership fee is EUR 50, covering all club activities for the calendar year. No separate joining or equipment usage fees are charged.

  • The family membership fee is EUR 20 and includes the same membership benefits as full membership.

All members are also members of the Finnish Canoeing and Rowing Federation.

Communications

Club communications are handled via Suomisport messages, an electronic members’ newsletter, a Facebook group, and a WhatsApp community.

You can subscribe to the members’ newsletter on this page. The newsletter also includes links to join the club’s other communication channels, such as the WhatsApp community and the Facebook group.

Changing membership category or ending membership

If your family situation changes or you wish to end your membership, both are handled in the same way. Please send an email to kysy@osm.fi by the end of the current calendar year. After this, you will be removed from the club’s membership register.

If you are changing your membership category, you may rejoin the club in your new membership category after the removal. The new membership category will take effect from the beginning of the next calendar year, and the membership fee will be charged according to the selected category.

If you end your membership, you will not be invoiced for membership fees for the following year. Membership fees already paid for the current year are non-refundable.

You can unsubscribe from the members’ newsletter using the unsubscribe link included in the newsletter.

You may leave the WhatsApp community at any time on your own.
